don’t get too low on the microns I pulled a 0 micron vacuum before and the condenser folded in, copper lines and evaporator coil got flattened lol. Good work as always Mike! Keep it up my guy

So don’t forget to put a dead bug between the contactor points ! Not allowing the unit to come on. Is an old trick but one the Teck will never forget when troubleshooting😊

Hmm? bad compressor maybe check valve leaking and flooding the compressor with hot liquid and oil which will cause compressor to go into a deep cycle. Maybe bad piston or txv flooding compressor too. Suction line should have a accumulator or in line trap. Also a bad circuit breaker in service panel feeding outdoor unit or lose connection. Love you buddy, you be safe out there.

Comfortmaker is one of the many brands manufactured under ICP. Carrier bought them out 20 or so years ago. I would consider Comfortmaker a builders grade system, about the same as Payne-usually the only thing that changes with the higher end of a particular line is the duration of the warranty and the badging. I personally prefer a Carrier, but they have their problems like any i guess.

I had a customer who would take apart the condenser. When there was something wrong . So I charged him $300 to put it back together so I can figure what was wrong . I called it stupidity fee

i’m not sure about the ICM crap.I installed one on my Goodman unit after about a week my capacitor went out, it was original to the unit It could be coincident. Nowhere in the instruction there was a memo about the four minute delay. I bought this unit at my local supplier last summer. The reason I installed it is in case I need to use my generator to free up the amp load. I unhooked all the wires for now and let it hang inside the condensing unit. If you figure out every time the unit comes on your fan and your furnace is running four minutes wasting electricity. i’m not a big fan of the product… 35 seconds to a minute delay would be sufficient enough. I might take it off and sell it to one of my customers 😂

...They're getting a Bosch! Love it! Great content Mikey. I too have one of those ICM Soft start kits on my unit. Seems to work great. I'm surprised all central air systems don't have them built in, or at least as an option or upgrade. Like, why wouldn't Bosch or Carrier include them with a new system. It's a small ad on considering the price of a new system and it only helps save money and increase the life of the equipment. To me, that's a no brainer!
